Finnish Demonstrations Highlight SUREFIT’s Impact

The SUREFIT project has made significant strides in Finland through a series of targeted demonstrations, engaging diverse audiences and showcasing the potential of innovative retrofitting technologies. These events provided valuable opportunities to connect with stakeholders across academia, industry, and the building sector, highlighting the flexibility and adaptability of the project’s solutions.

The first demonstration focused on students, delivered in the form of a lecture. While no site visits or feedback were gathered, this session introduced the younger generation to SUREFIT technologies and their potential role in building retrofitting. Another demonstration for academia and end-users took place during an internal researchers’ meeting this spring. This hybrid event combined a presentation with a visit to an office equipped with SUREFIT louvers, offering participants an up-close look at the technology.

A larger public demonstration aimed at experts, businesses, real estate professionals, and academics was held during a local seminar. This physical meeting attracted approximately 100 attendees, marking a significant milestone in the project’s outreach efforts. Online feedback was collected from about 10 participants, offering insights into the reception of the technologies among this audience.

Finally, a demonstration for installers, technicians, building owners, and maintenance personnel is planned for later this month. This event will feature an online presentation, with informal comments to be gathered afterward. Additionally, Aalto technicians are expected to visit the office equipped with SUREFIT louvers to gain practical insights into the installation and operation of the technology.

These demonstrations exemplify the SUREFIT project’s commitment to engaging a wide range of stakeholders. By tailoring events to different target groups, the project has effectively communicated the value of its innovative solutions, paving the way for future adoption and implementation across Finland. Stay tuned for updates on the outcomes of these events and their contribution to sustainable building practices.
